The future is bright: training in academic pathology

Abstract 

Pathologists wishing to make a contribution to healthcare through advances leading to better diagnostic and treatment approaches, should consider pursuing an academic training pathway. This article provides some practical advice and background information on how to go about taking time out of clinical training to study for a higher degree, from making the initial choice through to returning to clinical work.
